# Delete your account

> Learn how to delete (close) your Rocketpunch account.

## Delete your account

You can delete your Rocketpunch account at any time. Deleting your account removes your followers, career information such as work experience and education, and every post and comment you have written. Once the deletion is complete, none of it can be recovered.

You can request account deletion from `Settings` > `My Info & Login` > `Manage Account`.

## How a deletion request is processed

To prevent someone else from requesting deletion without your permission, **your account is preserved for 7 days** after the request. If you log in again during this period, you can recover your account. | When                          | What happens                                                                                     |
| ----------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Immediately after the request | Your profile and information become private, so other people can no longer view them.            |
| For 7 days after the request  | Your account is preserved. If you log in again during this period, you can recover your account. |
| After 7 days                  | All of your information is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered afterward.                |

It can take up to 30 days for the deletion to be reflected in search engines. If you want your information hidden right away, you can submit a request to each search engine.

    Logging in is how you prove that you are the person authorized to manage an account. Rocketpunch does not delete accounts or information based on requests where we cannot confirm your identity. If you cannot log in, you can submit documents that prove your identity, get access to the account, and then delete it yourself.
