If you used Rocketpunch in the past, you can import your previous profile into the account you use now. Your profile image, career, education, job application history, posts, comments, and more are migrated along with it. If you do not need the previous profile, you can delete it instead. ## Import or delete a previous account If a previous profile was created with that phone number or email address, you can choose one of the following when you log in. | Item | Details | | ----------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | Import | Merges the previous profile's information into your current account. You can edit it on your profile after the merge, but the merge itself cannot be undone. | | Delete | Destroys the previous profile. Deleted information cannot be recovered. | | Start fresh | If the previous profile is not yours, start with a new account. | ### If you logged in with an email address If you log in with the email address you used to create the previous profile, email verification alone completes the identity check. You can import or delete the previous profile without confirming a password. ### If you logged in with a phone number A previous profile that signed up with a phone number only has no identity information on file, so we check the previous account's password to confirm that the person logged in now is the actual account owner. Once the password is confirmed, you can import the previous profile. If you forgot the password, entered it incorrectly several times, or the account has no password (a social login, for example), you verify your identity with documents by applying for profile migration. In the past, Rocketpunch used **possession-based verification**, which confirmed only that you held the mobile phone by having you enter a verification code. Possession-based verification confirms only that the number is in your hands right now — it cannot identify who the number actually belongs to. To strengthen personal data protection, we later moved to **identity verification** (recommended by government agencies), which identifies you by carrier, date of birth, and phone number. As part of that change, accounts previously registered with a phone number only can no longer reset their password through simple phone number verification. A phone number can pass to someone else when it is canceled or changed. If a password could be reset with phone number verification alone, whoever received that number next could change the password or view the account's information. This procedure exists to prevent that, so we appreciate your patience with the extra steps. If **the phone number is the only matching information and you do not remember the previous password**, we ask you to submit documents so we can verify your identity. You may redact sensitive information such as your address or the second half of your Resident Registration Number before submitting. Documents used for verification are destroyed once they have served their purpose. ## Apply for profile migration If identity verification is required, you can request migration by submitting documents through the application form. 1. Log in with an email address or social account you can currently use, to set up a new account. 2. Submit the [profile migration application](https://support.rocketpunch.com/profile-permission) form with your name, the profile address of the previous account you cannot log in to, the profile address of the new account you use now, your supporting documents, and the email address where you want to receive the result. 3. You receive the result within 48 business hours. If the documents you submitted match the profile information, we migrate the profile information to your new account. ### Documents you can submit You need a document showing that the previous account is yours. Every document must have been **issued within the last 6 months**. If a proof of employment is hard to obtain, you can submit a national insurance enrollment certificate (4대보험 가입내역 확인서) instead, which is easy to issue through services such as KakaoTalk. | Information registered on the previous account | Documents you can submit | | ---------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | Education | Certificate of enrollment or certificate of graduation | | Career | Proof of career or proof of employment, or a national insurance enrollment certificate (4대보험 가입내역 확인서) | | Phone number matches only | Certificate of telecom service use (통신서비스 이용증명원) | A certificate of telecom service use (통신서비스 이용증명원, also called 통신사 가입증명원) is a document proving that you used a given phone number during a given period. **Always redact sensitive personal information**, such as the second half of your Resident Registration Number, before submitting. Documents used for verification are destroyed once they have served their purpose, and your application may be rejected if we cannot confirm your identity or the name on the account does not match. ## If you only want to delete the account without migrating You can also delete the previous profile without importing it. | Situation | What to do | | ---------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | You can log in to your own account | Agree to the terms on screen and tap `Delete this profile without importing`. | | The profile was not created by you, or you suspect it was stolen | Follow the instructions in [Report or block a profile](/en/report-profile). | ## Frequently asked questions Rocketpunch does not collect (scrape) publicly available personal information, photos, or posts. If you suspect identity theft, submit a [profile migration application](https://support.rocketpunch.com/profile-permission). Once we have checked, we will help you delete the profile or close the account. In that case, automatic migration through login is not possible. You can still migrate by verifying your identity with documents through the [profile migration application](https://support.rocketpunch.com/profile-permission). The previous profile's information is merged into your current profile, and you can freely edit it on your profile afterward.
