# Managing event check-in

> How to check guests in on the day and manage your check-in status.

In `Rocketpunch` > `Enterprise Services` > `Events` > `Events` > `Manage event` > `Guests and queue`, select `Check-in` and the check-in screen opens in a new tab.

## Choosing how you scan

Pick one of three options under check-in method. You can change it at any time from the check-in screen.

* **This device's camera:** Reads QR codes with the camera on the device you are using.
* **Hardware scanner:** Uses a separate QR or barcode scanner connected to your computer.
* **Mobile scanner:** Scan the QR shown on screen with your phone, or open the address with `Copy URL`, and you can scan from your phone.

## Choosing a check-in mode

| Mode | Behavior |
| ------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Standard mode | After a scan completes, you select the approve button to confirm the check-in. |
| Fast mode | After a scan completes, the guest is marked checked in immediately, without reviewing their details. |

## Reviewing check-in status

The check-in screen lists approved guests. If a registrant is missing, go to `View full queue` or to `Guests and queue` on the event and approve the registrants who are still pending.

Guests who did not check in are automatically changed to `No-show` once the event ends.

## Changing check-in status by hand

Select a guest in the list to open their details. Select `Checked in` to check them in manually, without scanning a QR code.

To change several at once, select the guests in the list, pick either `Not checked in` or `Checked in`, and select `Bulk update status`.

## Adding check-in staff

Under additional admins in `Permissions and settings` on the event, select `Invite admin` to invite a private admin (a company) who helps run check-in. For details, see [Event admins, deletion, and settings](/en/console/event-host).
