# Understanding permissions

> How console permissions are divided, and what each one can do.

## Base permissions

* **Primary owner**: Holds the highest permission at the company. There is one per company.
* **Owner**: For the people who help run the company overall.
* **Member**: Can only reach the areas they have permission for.

## Area permissions

| Area        | What an admin can do                                          |
| ----------- | ------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Social      | Edit profile information, write posts and comments, and chat. |
| Hiring      | Create job postings, and review and manage applicants.        |
| Events      | Create, review, and manage events.                            |
| Education   | Create, review, and manage courses.                           |
| Advertising | Create ads and pay for them.                                  |
| Store       | Set up the store profile, add products, and manage orders.    |

  The store is where catering, venue rental, and made-to-order products are sold. It is opened only for vendors who have arranged it with Rocketpunch in advance, so the Store menu does not appear in the sidebar until then. For details, see [Creating a store](/en/console/store-create).

## Other permissions

These apply to a single job posting or event rather than the whole company. You assign them on that item's management screen.

| Item             | Permission                                                                                                        |
| ---------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Posting reviewer | Assigned on an individual job posting. Reviews the posting and its applicants, and changes an applicant's status. |
| Event admin      | Assigned on an individual event. Edits or deletes the event, and manages its tickets and staff.                   |
