# Explore events

> Learn the different types of events and how to find the ones you care about.

Rocketpunch Events brings conferences, lectures, networking sessions, hackathons, and other business events together in one place.

## Understanding event types

Rocketpunch events fall into two types, depending on how you join.

    Anyone can attend without registering. Check the schedule and location on the event details page, then just show up.

    You need to register a ticket to attend. Tickets come in free and paid versions.

Tickets for registered events are either free or paid, and a single event may offer several ticket types. For details, see [Register an event ticket](/en/event-ticket-purchase).

## Finding events

Events covers a wide range of business gatherings, including conferences, lectures, networking sessions, and hackathons. Enter an event name, keyword, or host name in the search box to find one.

Combine the Type, Topic, and Location filters to narrow down your options. You can pick a date on the calendar, or check Upcoming Events to see what starts soon. The 'LIVE' and 'D-2' labels on an event card tell you which events are happening right now or starting shortly.
