# Register an event ticket

> Learn how to register a ticket so you can attend a registered event.

You need to register a ticket to attend a registered event. Tickets come in free and paid versions, and registration runs according to the approval method the host chose. For an open event, no ticket is needed. Just check the schedule and location, then show up.

## Before you purchase

* The host running the event decides the ticket types and prices. A single event may have several ticket types.
* You need to log in to register a ticket.
* Depending on the ticket, it may require host approval, be limited in quantity, or be on sale only during a set period.
* You can pay for a paid ticket with a credit card, a bank transfer, or an easy payment service.

## Registering a ticket for a registered event

On the Event Details page, check the ticket name, price, and seats remaining, then register. A single event may have several ticket types, and some tickets are limited in quantity or sold only during a set period.

### Price

Tickets are either free or paid. The host running the event sets the price, and one event may offer several tickets at different prices.

| Type        | Details                                                                              |
| ----------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Free ticket | Registration is approved automatically, or moves to Pending Approval.                |
| Paid ticket | After payment, registration is approved automatically, or moves to Pending Approval. |

### Approval method

The approval process runs according to the method the host chose. Some events require host approval, and others approve registrations automatically.

| Type               | Details                                                                       |
| ------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Automatic approval | Your spot is confirmed as soon as you register.                               |
| Approval required  | After you register, the host has to approve it before your spot is confirmed. |

### Ticket issuance

Once your spot is confirmed, My Ticket is issued as a QR code. Use this QR code at the venue to confirm your entry.

## Checking the events you have joined

You can find the tickets you registered and the events you attended before in `Settings` > `Event Ticket Registration`. This is also where you can see the QR ticket issued once your spot is confirmed.
