# Report or block a profile

> Learn how to report or block an inappropriate profile, and how to report a profile that impersonates you.

## Reporting an inappropriate profile

If you come across an inappropriate profile, you can report it. Please report profiles that do not comply with the [Community Guidelines](https://www.rocketpunch.com/terms?termType=COMMUNITY_GUIDELINE) or that you believe have legal or ethical issues.

1. On the profile of the user you want to report, press the `More button ···` and click `Report`.
2. Select a reason for the report and press `Submit`.
   | Reason                                                             | Description                                                                                                          |
   | ------------------------------------------------------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
   | False information about education, work experience, or credentials | A company they never worked at is listed as work experience, or a degree or certificate they never earned is posted. |
   | An account that uses someone else's name, photo, or career history | An impersonation account that pretends to be another person.                                                         |
   | An account that appears to belong to a user under 15               | The user appears to be below the minimum signup age set in the Terms of Service.                                     |
   | Discriminatory language in the bio or elsewhere                    | The profile contains expressions that demean a group or person because of race, gender, religion, and so on.         |
   | Free text (up to 500 characters)                                   | Enter your own reason in 500 characters or less if none of the reasons above apply.                                  |
3. The profile you reported is hidden from your screen right away, and the report is handled after an internal review by our operations team.

## Blocking a profile

You can block a specific user or company. On their profile, or on a post or comment they wrote, press the More button `···` and press `Block Profile`.

Blocking changes the following:

* Their content is no longer recommended in your Feed.
* You no longer receive notifications about their activity.
* If you were following them, you are unfollowed.
* Neither of you can send messages to the other.

## Unblocking a profile

In `Settings` > `Blocked Profiles`, you can see the users you blocked and unblock them.

## Reporting a chat

If you receive an inappropriate message, you can report it. Please report messages that do not comply with the [Community Guidelines](https://www.rocketpunch.com/terms?termType=COMMUNITY_GUIDELINE) or that you believe have legal or ethical issues.

1. Right-click the message you want to report, or press and hold it on mobile, and select `Report User`.
2. Select a reason for the report and press `Submit`.
   | Reason                                                     | Description                                                                                                                         |
   | ---------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
   | Insulting language toward another person                   | You received a message that puts you down with profanity, slander, or ridicule.                                                     |
   | Requests for money transfers, phishing links, and the like | Someone asks you to send money on the pretext of an investment or a loan, or sends a link meant to steal your personal information. |
   | Bulk or irrelevant advertising messages                    | You repeatedly receive promotional messages that have nothing to do with the conversation.                                          |
   | Offensive or sexually explicit language or images          | You received language or images that are sexually degrading.                                                                        |
   | Free text (up to 500 characters)                           | Enter your own reason in 500 characters or less if none of the reasons above apply.                                                 |
3. The message you reported is hidden from your screen right away, and the report is handled after an internal review by our operations team.

  Your report stays anonymous, and the content is no longer recommended to you after you submit it. If the situation is serious, please also report it to your local authorities.

## Reporting an impersonated profile

If you find a profile impersonating you or someone you represent, file a report through **Report an impersonated profile**. You need the address of the impersonating profile and documents that verify your identity. We review what you submit and send the result to the email address you entered.
