# Rocketpunch history

Rocketpunch started in 2012 as a platform for startup company and hiring information, and grew into a career social network centered on personal business profiles.

## Timeline

## Key turning points

### Starting as a startup information platform (2012)

Rocketpunch began with a question: isn't there an easy way to look up information about startups? An experimental blog called "Get Rocket," inspired by an offline startup hiring meetup, became the beginning of Rocketpunch. At the time, Rocketpunch was a platform that gathered scattered startup company and hiring information in one public place.

### Selected as Crunchbase's exclusive Korean partner (2014)

Rocketpunch was selected as the exclusive Korean partner of Crunchbase, the largest company information platform in the US. This opened a channel for information about Korean startups to reach audiences abroad.

### From company-centered to people-centered (2015-2016)

Starting in 2015, Rocketpunch shifted the center of the service from company information to personal business profiles. The connection request and self-directed job search features were released, strengthening career networking. In March 2016, the redesign was completed with the release of "New Rocketpunch," a platform centered on information about people.

With this change, Rocketpunch became a service where even people not currently looking for a job or a move could record and manage their careers. Searching for people based on public profiles is the biggest change Rocketpunch brought to a closed Korean job market.

### Becoming a career social network (2022-2023)

The service reached its 10th anniversary in September 2022. What started as a startup hiring platform had established itself as a career social network for working people. In February 2023, Rocketpunch released "Rocketpunch Premium," which analyzes your profile visitors and search visibility.

### Becoming a career social network (2025-)

Rocketpunch released Rocketpunch 3.0, a networking platform that connects people to people. In 2026, with a vision of "reshaping the social platform ecosystem," Rocketpunch is moving toward a platform that connects every person, every business, and every opportunity.
