# Set Up Your Rocketpunch Profile and Get Discovered

> A complete Rocketpunch profile helps recruiters find you and shows companies a clear picture of your skills, experience, and projects.

Your Rocketpunch profile is your public professional identity on the platform. It combines your work history, technical skills, education, and projects into a single page that companies and recruiters search when looking for candidates. A well-built profile doesn't just tell your story — it makes you discoverable. The more complete and specific your profile is, the more often it surfaces in relevant searches by hiring teams across Korea's tech industry.

## Profile Sections

Your profile is organized into six key sections. Fill out as many as apply to you — each one adds depth and improves your visibility in search results.

| Section                   | What to Include                                                                                         |
| ------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Basic Info** | Your full name, profile photo, professional headline, location, and a short bio |
| **Work Experience** | Past and current roles with company name, title, dates, and a description of what you built or led |
| **Skills & Technologies** | Programming languages, frameworks, tools, and platforms you work with (e.g., React, Python, Kubernetes) |
| **Education** | Degrees, institutions, fields of study, and graduation years |
| **Projects & Portfolio** | Personal projects, open-source contributions, products you shipped, or links to your work |
| **Certifications** | Professional certifications, licenses, or credentials relevant to your field |

</Steps>

<Tip>
  Adding specific, searchable tech skills — such as **React**, **Python**, **Kubernetes**, **TypeScript**, or **AWS** — directly improves your chances of appearing in recruiter searches. Recruiters on Rocketpunch frequently filter candidates by technology stack, so match your listed skills to the tools you'd genuinely use on the job.
</Tip>

## Profile Visibility

By default, your Rocketpunch profile is **public**, meaning it can be discovered by companies, recruiters, and other members of the platform. You can adjust your visibility settings at any time:

* **Public** — Your full profile is visible to all Rocketpunch users and may appear in search results. This is the recommended setting if you're open to opportunities.
* **Private** — Your profile is hidden from search results and is not visible to other users. Use this setting if you want to pause your presence on the platform without deleting your account.

To update your visibility, go to **Settings → Privacy** and toggle your profile visibility preference.

<Warning>
  Setting your profile to private removes it from recruiter searches entirely. If you're actively job hunting, keep your profile public to maximize your chances of being discovered.
</Warning>

## Handle (Username)

Every Rocketpunch profile has a unique **handle** — a short username that forms your personal profile URL. For example, a handle of `yourname` gives you the URL `rocketpunch.com/yourname`. Your handle is set during sign-up and can be updated in **Settings → Account**.

Choose a handle that's professional and easy to share — many users use their name or a variation of it. Your handle appears on your public profile, in search results, and in any direct links you share with recruiters or collaborators. For full details on handle policies and usage, see Rocketpunch's [Terms of Service](https://www.rocketpunch.com/en/terms).
