Set your handle
Where is the handle used?
- Profile address: Your handle becomes your profile URL. (Example: www.rocketpunch.com/@yourhandle)
- Search and mentions: You can search for profiles by name and handle, or mention someone by putting their handle after @.
- Short profile URL: Add “.rockets.app” to your handle to get a short profile URL. Use it on your resume, other social media, business cards, and so on.
(Example: if your handle issteve→steve.rockets.app)
Handle rules
- It can be 3 to 30 characters long.
- Only lowercase English letters (a–z), numbers (0–9), and hyphens (-) can be used.
- Hyphens (-) cannot be used consecutively, and cannot come at the beginning or the end.
- A handle that another user is already using is not available.
Changing (*editing) your handle
Your handle is permanent and cannot be changed again. Instead, a new handle is set in the following cases.- New rules applied at login: If your handle was created under the old rules, you are prompted to set a handle that meets the new rules the next time you log in. At that point you can keep the handle you use now, or choose one that nobody has taken yet.
- Profile merging: Your handle may change when you migrate (merge) a previous account’s profile into your current account.
Even when your handle changes, the old handle address automatically points to the new handle, so profile links you already shared keep working.
