Apart from a few specific cases, you cannot delete a company profile yourself. In the cases below, submit the request form and we will review it and take care of it.

When deletion is possible

  • “Personal information” protected under Korea’s Personal Information Protection Act refers only to information about a “living natural person.” Information about a corporation or organization (trade name, address, representative’s name, revenue, and so on) is not personal information.
  • Administrative interpretations and official materials from KISA, Legal Times, the Seoul Metropolitan Government, and other public bodies likewise state that “a representative’s name, a business address, and the like are business information subject to disclosure, and there is no legal obligation to comply with a request to keep them private or delete them.”
  • Identifiers unique to a natural person — a resident registration number, a personal home address, a representative’s personal contact details — may exceptionally be treated as personal information. But a publicly listed representative’s name, a corporate address, or business registration details alone clearly do not qualify.

Requesting deletion

Getting the primary owner role

To confirm that the request comes from someone entitled to make it, we check the primary owner role on the company profile. Without it, you have to obtain the role before you can request deletion.

Preparing supporting documents

Once you hold the primary owner role, you need documents showing that you belong to the company. Every document must have been issued within the last 3 months. If proof of employment is hard to obtain, a national insurance enrollment certificate works instead, and it is easy to issue through services such as KakaoTalk.
If you are not a business, you do not need to attach a business registration certificate. Even for a closed company, you can apply as long as you attach a document proving that you are the representative or otherwise authorized.Always redact sensitive personal information, such as the second half of your resident registration number, before submitting. Requests are rejected when we cannot confirm your identity or your affiliation.

Filling in the form

  1. Look up the profile URL of the company to delete and the URL of your own Rocketpunch account.
  2. In the company profile permission request form, enter the company name, company profile URL, your job title, the account URL that will receive permission, your supporting documents, and the email address to send the result to.
  3. Write in the notes field that you are requesting deletion of the company profile, then submit.

What happens after deletion

Once your request is confirmed, it is processed immediately.

Removing it from search engines

The profile drops out of search engine crawling immediately, but content already crawled stays in search results for a while, because search engines refresh on their own schedule. If you want it hidden right away, you can submit a request to each search engine.
